Our Vision

The Sherman Community Garden is a place to build community through gardening.  To this end, we will
  • Convert an empty lot in the Sherman area into a community garden
DONE.  A lot at 600 N. Maxey was obtained in October of 2008.  Five community plots were installed there as a pilot project for the winter.
  • Provide garden plots for the use of garden members as individuals or with friends (co-workers, church and civic groups, etc.)
  • Establish “community plots” in the garden, devoted to growing food for local food banks
  • Provide members with multiple ways to participate in the garden
  • Hold garden events for community neighbors
We look forward to building this community garden with you.  In fact, we can't do it without you.
